Home Groups Help Us Grow Spiritually

Home Groups, which typically include 6-12 people, are our way of providing the intimate environment needed by every believer to experience optimum spiritual growth. Connecting people in a Home Group is not an optional support ministry of our church - it IS the church in its smallest unit. We encourage you to look over the list of home groups on this page and contact one that looks like a fit for you.

To enhance mission accomplishment we have designed that the Home Group would intentionally focus on applying what we call the 7 Functions of Biblical Community. These functions are listed below with a brief description & will be further investigated later in this material.

S SPIRITUAL FORMATION
As a Biblical Community, we will annually encourage home groups to pursue development in Christ using tools like the Christian Life Profile.

E EVANGILISM
As a Biblical Community, we will pray for & seek opportunities to reach people who do not have a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ.

R RECREATION
We will make room in our lives for spontaneous & planned get-togethers as opportunities to experience genuine expressions together of our Christian beliefs, practices & virtues & as opportunities to invite others.

V VOLUNTEERISM
As members of the Biblical Community, we will commit ourselves to support the greater Body of Christ at our Church through involvement in various ministries such as youth, children, worship, ushers, & greeters.

I INTERNATIONAL MISSIONS
As an expression of our desire to share Christ with the world, our Biblical Community will support International Missions Projects & missionaries through increased awareness, commitment to prayer, & financial contributions.

C CARE
We will show our commitment & care for one another by celebrating each other & offering practical help to those in difficult & crisis situations, i.e., hospital or home visits, meal preparation, validation, prayer, referral to resources, etc.

E EXTENDING COMPASSION
In response to the social needs of our community, we will commit to participation in compassion projects to those not in our Biblical Community through the year.
